Earlier this year, the Aspirations Academies Trust launched a public consultation with a range of stakeholders about opening Livingstone Academy Bournemouth. The consultation on the proposed new academy asked the key question: ‘Do you think that The Aspirations Academies Trust should enter into a Funding Agreement with the Secretary of State and that the Livingstone Academy Bournemouth should open?’

The consultation closed at the end of October 2021 and we are delighted to report that we received overwhelming support to open Livingstone Academy Bournemouth. The new school will serve all of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, initially providing 60 places for Reception and 150 places for Year 7. A sixth form provision for 100 students will open in the near future. The school will eventually hold 1,370 pupils aged between 4 to 18.

The overwhelming majority of feedback received from prospective parents and the local
Bournemouth community has been extremely positive. Below is a snapshot of some of this
feedback:
 “The perfect school for both of my children”
 “Would have loved to go to a school like this”
 “We feel blessed to give our son this advantage at the start of what will undoubtedly be
the new way of teaching”
 “I believe this is the school for me”
 “I am very excited to hear about your school opening”
 “I have been reading with interest about your school and it’s like a breath of fresh air”

Having reviewed and considered the feedback from the consultation we have decided to go ahead with our proposal and enter into a funding agreement with the Secretary of State to open Livingstone Academy Bournemouth in September 2021.
