Livingstone Academy Bournemouth is a brand new all-through school that will combine excellent education with an innovative skills development programme, ensuring students from four to 18 have the skills and qualifications they need to succeed.
Livingstone Academy Bournemouth will open in September 2021. Initially, there will be 150 places for Year 7 pupils and 60 places for Reception children.
The academy is a collaboration between Steve and Paula Kenning, CEOs of Aspirations Academies Trust and Ian Livingstone, a digital entrepreneur and one of the founding fathers of the UK games industry.
Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM) are subjects that are critical for success in the 21st century. The curriculum will be designed around these subjects and will also focus on applying the knowledge learned in these subjects on real-world assignments.
There will be a great emphasis on learning alongside employers so that young people on leaving Livingstone Academy will be ready to thrive in their chosen field of study and career.
In a world that has become exponentially reliant on technology, it is important that all young people not only know how to consume technology, but are given the knowledge, insight and the relevant skills to create their own technology.
At Livingstone Academy Bournemouth, young people will experience a very different type of education, centred on the development of knowledge and skills, delivered through a partnership with the Academy and the digital industry.
We are excited to welcome pupils to the Academy in September 2021, and will be holding Academy meetings later this year. If you would like to stay updated or get in contact before then, please visit our Contact Us page.
"The arts and sciences should no longer be a question of either or. Livingstone Academy Bournemouth will combine computer programming skills and creativity by which today's world-changing companies are built."
Ian Livingstone, CBE
